Why
The job it does
Photoshop crops every exported PNG to its pixels. For a lone icon that's fine. For animation frames or the pieces of a UI screen, every file ends up with a different origin and the alignment you built in the PSD has to be rebuilt in the engine. SpriteExporter has a switch for it.
What's new
New in 1.4.0
- Duplicate names: add a suffix _2, _3… instead of overwriting layers that share a name. Off by default.
- Layers from: export only the groups you selected in the Layers panel. With Top groups, merged, each child group comes out as one PNG. Off by default.
- If an export fails halfway, your document is left exactly as it was and the panel says what went wrong.
- With both new options left as they are, the output is identical to 1.3.1.
How it works
How it works
Step 1
Choose the crop
Keep canvas size and position for frames and UI pieces, or Trim to artwork when you want each PNG as small as its content.
Step 2
Choose what leaves
Each visible layer, or each top-level group merged into one PNG. Optionally, only the groups you selected in the Layers panel.
Step 3
Pick a folder
Layer names become file names, with a prefix if you want one. Export at @1x or @2x in one pass.
Features

- @1x or @2x, scaled nearest-neighbour so pixel art stays sharp
- Optional padding in Trim mode
- Duplicate names: overwrite and warn, or add a suffix _2, _3…
- Your document is left exactly as it was
Questions
Before you buy
Can't Photoshop already do this?
File > Export > Layers to Files with Trim Layers unticked keeps canvas size, but it names files by index and can't merge groups. Export As and Quick Export always trim.
