Why
The job it does
Photoshop can make a sprite sheet if you are patient with guides, and it can't take one apart at all. SpriteSheet does the two jobs in a couple of clicks, and it's free.
How it works
How it works
Step 1
Layers to a sheet
Select your frames and export. As on canvas keeps registration between frames; Trimmed sits each frame on the bottom-centre pivot Unity and Godot expect.
Step 2
A sheet to layers
Drop a sheet on the panel and get one layer per frame, 01, 02, 03, ready for the timeline.
Step 3
Grid read for you
The grid is read from the gaps between frames. If frames touch, the panel asks for columns and rows.
Features
What's in it
- Frames on a uniform grid, ordered by the number in the layer name
- As on canvas or Trimmed to a bottom-centre pivot
- Empty layers stay empty frames, so timing doesn't shift
- Pixels outside the canvas are masked to their cell
- One layer per frame back from a sheet
- Your document is never modified
- Panel in 10 languages
Questions
Good to know
Is it really free?
Yes. No key, no account, nothing to activate. Use it in commercial work.
What if my frames touch each other?
There are no gaps to read, so the panel says so and asks for the grid: columns and rows, or the cell size in pixels.
