LACIMA Tools — plugins for Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.
Last updated: 3 October 2026 (purchases on this website).
1. What the plugins do with your data
Your documents never leave your computer. Our plugins read and write only the Photoshop, Illustrator or After Effects documents you point them at, plus the folders you explicitly choose for export. There is no analytics SDK, no remote logging and no automatic update check.
2. Licence keys and the 2-computer limit
A licence key is verified offline, on your machine, using a cryptographic signature. The key file is stored locally in the plugin's own storage folder, managed by Adobe.
Plugins that enforce the 2-computer limit (NineSlicer from 1.5.0, SpriteExporter from
1.3.0) contact license.lacimatools.com when they are online, at most about
once a week. They send the licence id, an anonymous device identifier (a one-way hash
computed on your computer) and a label made of your operating system, Photoshop version,
CPU model and amount of RAM — for example "Windows · Photoshop 27.2 · i7-9700K · 32 GB".
No computer name, user name or files are sent. We keep that list, with the date each
computer was first and last seen, so you can see and free your computers at
license.lacimatools.com/devices.
Without internet the plugin keeps working.
If you get your key from our self-service page, you supply the email address you used for the purchase so that the purchase can be verified with the store that processed it. That address is used to check the purchase and to record which key was issued, and for nothing else — no newsletter, no profiling, no sale or transfer to third parties. Each request is recorded in an event log (email, product, outcome) that is deleted automatically after 12 months; the record of which key was issued to which purchase is kept for as long as the licence exists.
The licence service and this website run on Cloudflare, which processes the technical data of each request (such as your IP address) to deliver it. We do not store IP addresses in our licence records.
To know which pages are read, this website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics: it counts visits without cookies and without fingerprinting, and shows us only totals (pages, countries, referrers), never who you are.
3. What the stores know, and we do not
Purchases are handled by the store you buy from — itch.io, or FastSpring for the Adobe Creative Cloud Marketplace. Those companies act as sellers of record: they process your payment and hold your billing details under their own privacy policies. We never see your card details. We receive only what the store shows us about a completed order, typically a name and an email address.
Buying on lacimatools.com. Orders placed on this website are processed by our reseller Paddle.com (Paddle.com Market Ltd), the merchant of record for those orders. Paddle takes the payment, issues the receipt, handles sales tax or VAT and refunds, and holds your billing details under its own privacy policy. The checkout is Paddle's (Paddle.js): it is loaded only when you press Buy, and it may set the technical cookies Paddle needs for the payment and for fraud prevention. After a completed order we receive from Paddle the email address, the country, what you bought and the order number, and we use them only to issue your licence key, to let you find it again at /find-my-key and to revoke it if the order is refunded.
Emails from this website
Free downloads. SpriteSheet and PixelDrop are downloaded through a link we email you. We use your address to send that link and to answer you if you write back; it is kept in our email service until you ask us to delete it, and you get no marketing unless you opt in separately.
Audio release notice. If you ask on the Audio page, and confirm by email, we keep your address to tell you once when the audio plug-ins come out. Unsubscribe from that email, or write to us, and it's gone.
These emails are sent with Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France, EU), which stores the addresses for us. We store the email address, the date, what you asked for and where you signed up (for example, from a plug-in panel); nothing else.
4. Support email
If you write to us, we keep the message and your address for as long as it takes to help you, and to keep a record of the conversation if you write again. Nothing more.
5. Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by writing to the address below. Since the only data we hold is an email address tied to a licence and the list of computers it is active on, these requests are quick to honour.
6. Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted in the release notes of the affected plugin.
